• Diarrhea caused by Clostridium difficile: 1 gram daily for 4 weeks along with antibiotic treatment.
• Acute diarrhea: 250 mg twice a day for 5 days.
• Crohn's disease: 250 mg three times daily for up to 9 weeks.
• Ulcerative colitis: 250 mg three times daily.
• Helicobacter pylori infections: 250-500 mg twice daily in addition to usual treatment.
• Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS): 250 mg twice daily.
• Traveler's diarrhea: 250 mg per day.

Children:

• Acute diarrhea (over three months): 250 mg twice daily for five days.
• Acute diarrhea (under three months): 125 mg twice daily for five days.
